“Pakistan government and its armed forces are moving in the right direction to
eliminate terrorists and America will continue its support in this regard.
Though the terror war is being fought on your (Pakistan) land, but it is not
Pakistan’s war alone; Pakistan is fighting on the front and the US stands by
it.”
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a formal interaction with students
at Government College University Lahore where she further hoped that Pakistan
would soon achieve a rock-solid success in the war on terror.
“This is a remarkably difficult time for Pakistan. They’re dealing with brutal
terrorists and indigenous insurgents. We’ve seen over the last couple of weeks
in the run up to and during the operation in North and South Waziristan an
increase in brutal bombings and targeted assassinations”
US Spokesman Ian Kelly while commenting on U.S. Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton’s recent visit to Pakistan to express American solidarity with the
country beset with a “remarkably difficult time” as it plays its part in the
“common fight” against terrorism.
“Islamabad has been consistently calling for settlement of disputes through
negotiations. It is a good omen that Indian PM wants to hold peaceful dialogue
with Pakistan India and Pakistan should resolve all outstanding issues through
dialogue in order to pave the way for regional peace and prosperity”
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira while
commenting on Indian Prime Minister Manmohan’s statement voicing a desire to
restart dialogue with Pakistan.
“There is a need for establishing Pakistan-US relationship based on mutual trust
and interest. I appreciate President Obama’s policy of dialogue and engagement
with all countries especially the Muslim world, which he believed would help
foster understanding, reduce tensions and facilitate the resolution of regional
and global differences.”

Pakistanis themselves making a choice about whether or not they are going to

I think they are. And I think the White House is trying to figure out the best
ways in which to empower them to do that. It can’t be an American driven policy.
It can’t have an American imprint or footprint. This really has to be homegrown,
and that’s what we’re really working with the Pakistanis to achieve.”

“Turkey may be far away from here but the people and the place is very close at
heart with us. We understand how you feel, because we too are victim of
terrorism. Lets work in solidarity to fight the menace.”
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan while speaking at a reception in
his honor by the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
“The proposed establishment of a joint economic zone between India and Pakistan
will strengthen economic relations and promote business and industrial sectors
in both countries. The Administrative and Economic Committee of Pak-India
Business Council (PIBC) had discussed the proposal at length and found it useful
for both countries.”
